Implemented investment projects
In 2006-2010 NC Food Corporation JSC has implemented a number of investment projects aimed at the development of transport infrastructure of the export of the Kazakhstani grain, including:
- "Construction and equipment of the grain terminal in Baku port (Azerbaijan)"
In 2006 a Joint Venture Baku Grain Terminal LLC was established in the Baku seaport jointly with the Azerbaijani partner Planet-L and the subsidiary company of the NC Food Corporation JSC, Ak Biday - Terminal JSC, for the purpose of implementing the project on the construction of the grain terminal with the transshipment capacity of 350 thousand tons of grain a year and a one-time storage capacity of 15 thousand tons of grain. The aim of the project was development of the transport infrastructure of the Kazakhstani grain export with orientation to the promising market of Azerbaijan. The grain terminal was set in operation in April, 2007;
- "Construction of the milling complex in Baku port (Azerbaijan)"
In 2009 the milling complex with the production capacity of 150 tons of flour per day was built on the territory
of the Baku Grain Terminal LLC.
The project was aimed at providing entry to the market of Azerbaijan of the products of grain processing, as well
as to improve the economic efficiency as a result of the diversification of production;
- "Increasing the carrying capacity of the grain terminal in Aktau port"
In 2007 the reconstruction of the grain terminal owned by the subsidiary company of the NC Food Corporation JSC,
Ak Biday - Terminal JSC, was carried out in the Aktau seaport.
As a result, the carrying capacity of the grain terminal increased to 600 thousand tons of grain per year, and
one-time storage capacity increased to 22.5 thousand tons of grain. The aim of the project was further development
of the transport infrastructure of the Kazakhstani grain export to support the grain industry of Kazakhstan;
- "Construction and equipment of the grain terminal in Amirabad terminal (Islamic Republic of Iran)"
In 2008 a Joint Venture Amirabad Grain Terminal Kish LLC was established in the Amirabad seaport (IRI) jointly with the Iranian partner Behdis Tedzherat Alborz and a subsidiary company of the NC Food Corporation JSC, Ak Biday - Terminal JSC, for the purpose of implementing the project on construction of the grain terminal with the handling capacity of 700 thousand tons of grain a year and a one-time storage capacity of 53 thousand tons. The aim of the project was further development of the transport infrastructure of the Kazakhstani grain export to enter the markets of the Caspian region and further world markets. The grain terminal was set in operation in July, 2010.
